Home handyman Gavin Shoebridge has made his own electric car from parts that he has fitted into an old 1987 Mitsubishi Tredia. 12 Deep cycle batteries, an electric motor and some electronic bits and bobs - a little bit of research - he now has a car that can cruise around without the need to fill up at the gas station. He was getting sick of paying $50 for gas every week. Good on ya Gav - we expect more people to do similar. He has video's of how he did it on YouTube...
